The music of Egschiglen, a word meaning “beautiful melody”, impresses whether for its variety or for its graciousness. Practically ever since foundation in 1991, the musicians have focused on the contemporary music of Mongolia searching systematically for the sound dimensions of its repertoire through the traditional instruments and vocal techniques of central Asia.

Cultural ambassadors for their country, the group musicians, with their virtuosity, musically convey the harmony of their culture.

Turmenbayar Migdorj and Tumursaihan Yanlav sing and play horse-head violins, a double horse hair strung instrument.

Uuganbaatar Tsend-Ochir plays a type of Mongolian bass and the vocalist Amartuwshin Baasandorj vocalist performs in the khomii style, a guttural approach in which the overtones are simultaneously modulated while singing the base melody. Sarangel Tserevsamba is a specialist in sitar and the group’s feminine voice. Wandanseng Batbold is equally virtuoso on the sitar and second soloist.
