SUMMER HOLIDAYS
The Museu do Oriente summer workshops target younger audiences with educational proposals combining learning with a strong entertainment component. A series of activities designed to enable children to discover the Museum collection with its various smells, sounds, colours and flavours serving as a stimulus to creativity, cultural awareness and the sharing of experiences.
These activities require prior registration.

SPICE TINTED PAINTS
Concepts | Flavours, Colours, Travelling
What are the flavours of the Orient? Cinnamon, saffron, cumin, turmeric
What colours await us in the Museum? Many or few? Happy or sad? After an exploratory visit focused on spices, the children head off to the Educational Service kitchen to manufacture from saffron, cinnamon, curry, ginger, oils and egg the paints with which they shall paint their masterpieces.

I MASK MYSELF, YOU MASK YOURSELF, WE ALL MASK OURSELVES!

I can suddenly become another person. As if in fairytale, I wave a wand and
WHOOSH! I am a god, a dragon, witch or clown. An artistic workshop featuring plaster of Paris mask making and painting inspired on examples found in the collection. The event culminates with a short performance recreating the episode dealt with during the visit.

From clue to clue, as if some kind of paper-chase, we set about gathering memories, visions and sensations that takes us off to China. At the end, the players celebrate their performance in a ceremony worthy of the Olympic Games themselves!

MY INNER MAP

After perusing the various maps on exhibit, each student sets about creating his own world map in which places correspond to the geography of emotions and memories. Let us set off on a grand tour of the Museu do Oriente and turn it into a fantastic experience! Virtual reality making the planet on which we live personal. Will we be able to create our own virtual map?

GLÓRIA OF THE ORIENT
Progress in this game is defined by the luck or otherwise of the various participants. Answer by answer, we progress or fall back steps in the Glória Game. And step by step we learn differing aspects about Asia: its Gods, Buddhas, customs, costumes, foods
What will they tell us of everything there is to be told? In each house, there is an activity that may be an introduction to the martial arts, paper-chases, dances or singing not to mention theatrical performances.
