“… Off Road” is a musical project composed of four musicians from four different countries. Top quality musicians with their distinctive cultural roots and musical experiences that combine to create a unique musical experience: improvisations on a mix of jazz, world music, with a strong component of traditional Chinese music. A rhythmic, spiritual and fascinating project that eliminates borders to establish a global musical language.

Xu Fengxia was born in Shanghai in 1963 and lives in Germany. Lucas Niggli was born in Cameroom in 1968 and lives in Switzerland. Joe Fonda was born in Amsterdam in 1954 and now lives in New York. Carlos Zíngaro was born in Portugal in 1948 and resides in Lisbon.

Throughout their musical career, the four members of this project have produced various forms of collaboration but it is the first time these masters of contemporary music have joined together for a performance in Portugal.
