Introduction to animation, designed to equip participants with a level of understanding as to the different phases of animated production and design as well as the techniques relative to each respective phase. It also aims to provide a practical introduction to storyboards and demonstrate their importance to the production of animated film.

IntroduCTION TO MANGA DESIGN TECHNIQUES (Japanese cartoon design). This workshop focuses on providing a historical framework to this characteristic Japanese style as well as the design techniques incorporated from initial sketching through to the final work. Participants are to produce their own manga featuring the techniques learned with this final work then subject to discussion as regards the techniques utilised and the applicable alternatives.
