Auditorium

What must we feel, see and show so as to understand what took place over the last 500 years? What results, what human and cultural consequences remain of this half a millennium of Portuguese history? The magnificence of the heydays, the great religious splendour, the architectonic and ethnographic heritage and the memories, all came about from a common gest and project in which the great and small, devotees and adventurers participated throughout the course of centuries to slowly approximate the West and East.

It is on such voyaging that we wish to take all those interested in our history and its legacy.
