Lo Zha, the Magic Child, despite all of his efforts to maintain control, makes mistakes a lot bigger than himself.
Thus... the tiger took a punch... the arrogant King Dragon and his son, just as arrogant, complain, the ghosts enter into despair and the King of Hells is left exasperated...
Lo Zha has to endure many difficult episodes until the very Emperor of Jade finally comes to recognise all of his genuine merits...
The Magic Child and the King Dragon is a play taken from the epic novel of Fengshen Yanyi (The Investiture of the Gods or the Creation of the Gods). In puppet theatre tradition, and out of superstition, this story of divine struggles may only be performed by shadow companies.
Co-production: Fundação Oriente/A Tarumba
